Unsurprisingly, given our lifestyle of constant travelling and our presence amongst the boating community, we get to do a lot of repairs including:
- Re-stitching
- Replacing zips
- Patching and reinforcing tears
- Replacing fixings
- Replacing windows
- Alterations
- Tidying
We cannot make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear and will not undertake repairs on cloths that are either filthy or past their serviceable life – this is particularly true of vinyl covers which, once they are badly faded and brittle with the weave clearly visible, are no longer supple enough to go through the sewing machine. These covers are dead….
Should you have a cloth needing a little loving and we are moored nearby then give us a knock. Simple repairs, say the replacing of a few fixings or a little stitching, can be done almost immediately, anything more involved might take a few hours or an overnight stay in our workshop. If we are further afield then we can usually turn repairs around while you wait should you want to bring them to us. Please ring for advice.
